Storyboard Text

  • Now that I've stocked up on non-perishables,I'm going to run home and stay in my study room since the windows are already boarded.
  • Hurricanes are caused by tropical storms that get stronger by taking energy from warm water. Hurricanes cannot be formed unless within 300 miles of the Equator. Hurricanes move heat from the ocean to high in the Earth's atmosphere.
  • To try to stay safe, I'm going to read about hurricanes to learn more
  • It's been raining for a few hours and the wind has been picking up, almost 180km per hour. Palm trees are being ripped off the ground.
  • Meanwhile, outside...
  • Be sure to stay inside, even if it seems like the hurricane has lifted, wait until the government confirms it is safe to leave your home.
  • Well that was very helpful, but I need to know if there's any way I can stay even safer...
  • Sounds helpful.
  • After the hurricane has passed...
  • Oh my god...
  • Our roof is completely damaged!
  • MY CAR IS GONE!
  • At least it was only a Category 3, it could have been worse.
  • Oh thank god you're okay...
  • Dear Florida civilians. Yes it is true this hurricane was one of the worst we have seen in a while. Please remain calm.We have rescue teams going out 24 hours a day saving people and animals.
  • We will get through this together. Stay safe.
