George Washington: Use the bayonets, the town must be taken!

Once the Hessians woke up, they were shocked and surprised. They immediately surrendered.
Hessians: We surrender!
Days before the victory, Patriots had lost their hopes for the Americans' freedom. But now, they are all "liberty mad" again.
Patriots: We're going to win this war! You can't stop us Britain!
December 25, 1776. Battle of Trenton.
George Washinton: Victory or death!
Washington knew the Hessians, on the British side, were sleeping from the Christmas dinner the night before, so he thought it would be the perfect time to attack. Late at night, he crossed the Delaware River with his troops.
The American troops found the Hessians peacefully sleeping.
Washington captured 868 prisoners and 300 more at Princeton, New Jersey, with out losing even one of his men.
