Hello Mordred I am here to take you somewhere safe to meet your REAL mother!
Also, ma'am don't be sad. You are pregnant with another child you will soon not miss Mordred so be happy!
Life at Lothien
I am so ashamed. Why do I have to take care of him?
Why do I have to take care of my nasty wife's nasty bastard child? This is stupid.
(Mordred) Why was I taken away from my other family just to be hated and told that my real dad tried to kill me?
Ewww I can't believe I have to live with the product of incest! What is wrong with my mom??
Wow what a great King, but not a very good dad. This guy can't even call me son!
Knight of the Round Table in Camalot
There is no way I'm gonna kill this dude. He is ripped!! Also super nice and stuff. I hope I can figure out how to prevent this dumb fate everyone is talking about.
This scrawny boy is supposed to be the one who kills me?!? HA! Obviously he didn't get the good genes.
Mordred was born of King Arthur and his half sister Morgause. As told to do by his sorcerer Merlin, Arthur had to put all the babies born on May day (Mordred's birthday) on a boat going out to sea to die. He did this in an attempt to prevent a fate Merlin told him about where his son, Mordred, would kill him. Fortunatly for Mordred, he survived and was taken in by a fisherman and his wife. But when Mordred was 7 a mystical lady named Nyneve took him away to live with his mother Morgause.
Quest for Merlin
Why did I let Merlin out! I'm so stupid. My poor puppy! That was my only friend.
What is up with all these evil birds and tricking me? It's so rude.
While living at Lothien, Mordred was bullied by his older brothers, hated by King Lothien (who he thought for a while was his dad), and resented and ignored by his mother Morgause. Thankfully he had a white bracet puppy that was a sort of extension of Nyneve that he was best friends with. After his older brother Gawain goes to Camalot to become a knight Mordred gets in a fight with Garet (the younger brother) during which it is reveled to Mordred that he is really the bastard son of King Arthur. This instils in Mordred the need to go to Camalot and see his father, just to see if he should hate him.
Taking his Soul
Maybe if they would give us birds some crackers every once in a while I wouldn't have to eat their souls.
The one thing Mordred really wanted from his father, King Arthur, was for him to acknowledge Mordred as his son. Which he did not do when Mordred met him. However King Arthur was so kind and such a good king Mordred almost could not be mad. So after training and living with the knights, his brothers and his father he became a knight at the round table. Nyneve had also encouraged him to fight his fate, so getting close to Arthur and trying to do some good seemed like a good idea.
Turns out that I couldn't fight my fate after all.
After becoming a knight Mordred decides he wants to go on a quest to find Merlin. Since he knows that Merlin was the one who prophesied that Mordred would be the one to kill King Arthur, he decided he might go talk to the guy and see what he had to say. On his quest he stumbles on a beautiful garden in the woods with a bird in a cage, Mordred, not liking the fact that the bird is trapped, frees it without thinking. The next morning however the garden is gone and his puppy is dead. He knows that this means that Nyneve is also dead. He realizes that the bird he freed was actually Merlin. Merlin visits Mordred and gives him a vision about his fate and what he will do.
Hey thanks for letting me out you dummy! Hey also look at this vision of how you are gonna kill your dad.
After freeing Merlin and glimpsing his fate, Mordred learned from another bird that he may be able to help himself and his fate by removing his soul. Mordred would have to give his soul to someone he trusted for safe keeping. That person was his father, King Arthur. Arthur agreed to help Mordred and keep his soul safe. When the night came to remove Mordred's soul they began the ritual at the edge of the woods. When Mordred's soul emerged as a moth and flew towards Arthur the mean bird came out of the trees and ate it.
What the heck bird you tricked me!
Oh no now he is definitely gonna kill me
Because Mordred not longer had his soul he felt less and did what he wanted more. He didn't feel the heavy shame of who he was anymore and he just did him. However this ultimately pitted him against his father in the end and let to Mordred following through with his fate. As the Kingdom of Camelot crumbled in the final battle there were few left standing. Mordred came across the field of dead bodies towards Arthur. When Mordred went to finish him Arthur impaled him with spear of sorts but this didn't stop him. Mordred pulled himself close enough to Arthur to slice him in the head with his sword. It is said that while Mordred died Arthur was taken to Avalon barely alive to one day return as the once and future king.
