Storyboard Text

  • Good morning class! Today, we will debate about which cell organelle is the most important. Please sit in pairs and choose one organelle to talk about, and mention their function and what will happen if they weren't there.
  • Animal Cell Plant Cell
  • I think the Mitochondria is the most important, because it's the powerhouse which provides the whole cell with power.
  • No, actually. I think that the Red Blood Cells are the most important because it transports oxygen from the lungs to all body cells.
  • The White Blood Cell is only found in the animal cell. Without the White Blood cell, your body will be attacked by foreign bodies, and you'll get sick and eventually might die.
  • Rocks
  • I think the Endoplasmic Reticulum is most important because it transports proteins around the cells.
  • No, I disagree. The White Blood Cell is more important because it defends the body against any attack by viruses or bacteria.
  • I think the Mitochondria is the most important, because it's the powerhouse which provides the whole cell with power.
  • Excellent job everyone! Now, please mention where the cell organelle is found and what would happen if the cell you chose wasn't there.
  • The Red Blood Cells are found ONLY in animal cells. And, without the RBC. you'll die because there is no oxygen transporting around.
  • The Mitochondria is found in BOTH plant and animal cell. Without the Mitochondria, you can die because your body won't be getting enough energy.
  • The Endoplasmic Reticulum is found in BOTH plant and animal cell. WIthout the ER, your body won't have enough proteins so it'll get sore.
  • Super work everyone! I just want you to know that ALL organelles are important; they work together in team. Without one of them, the living thing will die. Thank you have a great day!
