I'm William Rufus
William the Conqueror had four sons and three daughters. The eldest son was called Robert, the middle was William Rufus and his third son was Henry.
After beoming King in 1100 Henry married Matilda, the daughter of malcolm III of Scotland.
Henry I had two children with his wife, one daughter Matilda (born 1102) and a younger son William (born 1103).
Henry ruled with help from various barons and lords in England and Normandy. Political friendships were important during the 12th century, and Henry maintained a wide range of these.
In 1120 Henry's son and heir,William died when his ship sank with no survivors. so his new heir was to be Matilda, even though some people did not agree with having a Queen.
In late November 1135, Henry fell ill because he ate a large number of lampreys (a type of eel) against his doctor's advice. He died on 1 December 1135 and was buried at Reading Abbey.
