THE FIRST ESTATEthis estate included the Roman Catholic clergy. They were only 1% of the population. They were the ones collecting most of the taxes and were the highest class.
THE SECOND ESTATEthis estate was made up of the nobles and aristocrats. it was 2% of the population and they were the "middle class " of their time. they collected taxes from only peasants.
THE THIRD ESTATEthis was the biggest estate at 97% of the population. it included the bourgeoise, workers and peasants. they supported ideas of enlightenment and paid all of the taxes to the 1st and 2nd estate. they had no government representation. they were the ones who got so angry and fed up that the revolution started. they began to tell the world about their ideas of enlightenment and then the revolution itself began.
