Scout is a very intelligent girl especially for her age, she can read a write and is only in first or second grade. She knows how to do things in school and around the house.She is very careful with the way she behaves and what she does

Jem is in fifth or sixth grade and he is smart, he is polite and tries his best to please everyone. He is a very caring brother over Scout, he tries to make his father happy and listen to everything he is supposed to do
Dill is very small for his age, he is older than Scout but is smaller than her. He lies a lot especially about his father who he has probably never met before. He comes up with lots of crazy ideas for the children to play and/or do.
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view---until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” (Lee, 39)
Atticus is the father of Scout and Jem. He is a layer who likes to read a lot. He is very smart and reads with Scout almost every night. He cares a lot for his children and tries to teach them the way to live properly.
Calpurnia is the house made, but she has been more of a mother figure to Jem and Scout since their mother died. She cares a lot for the children and tries to teach them how to be polite and how to act. She cooks and cleans for the family and is more of a friend than a maid.
Walter Cunningham is a boy who's family does not have much money, but they will not live off of what was like welfare because his father didn't want to lose his land. They also would not take anything that they knew they would not be able to pay back.
