  • Carbohydrates Function: to provide short term energy Examples: bread, pasta, rice and sugar Monomer: Monosacharide
  • Glucose
  • Nucleic Acids Function: Genetic Information, used to determine who you are and what you look like Examples: DNA and RNA Monomer: Nucleotide
  • Lipids Function: Long Term energy, warmth, make up cell membranes Examples: Body fat, waxes, oil, cholesterol, cell membrane Monomer: Fatty acids
  • Proteins Function : speeds up chemical reactions Example : enzymes Monomer: Amino Acids
