Storyboard Text

  • Have you ever wondered how the Japanese has come to make such good food?
  • Actually, I do!  It actually all began with rice!
  • The Japanese actually made rice a staple food after Chinese influence in 300 BC.
  • Mm.  Yummy rice.
  • They then started growing more and more of it, until it became one of Japan's most important food.
  • Then what about the more known ones, like ramen or udon?
  • Ramen actually didn't become popular until not that long ago.
  • Ramen became really popular around the 1920's, and was fairly new to the Japanese
  • Udon was invented in 1241, when a monk introduced flour milling technology
  • Japanese food became popular in America at around 1940
  • Wow!  Japanese food sure has come a long way.
  • I know, right?  Well, let's finish these before they get cold.
