How North America Came to Be: The Legend of Weesakayjack
Weesakayjack survived on an island with a group of animals and then they built a canoe. Afterwards, Weesakayjack told the beaver to dive down and grab a piece of the Earth. After failed attempts a brave muskrat volunteered.
Weesakayjack tied a rope to the muskrat and then he dove down. However, when the muskrat didn't come up, they assumed he was dead. To check they pulled up the rope and saw the muskrat dead.
Although, the muskrat was dead, he sacrificed his life for the others as he came back with a piece of the Earth in his paw.
With the help of the turtle, Weesakayjack was able to form North America.
In modern day, you can help out your habitat, the Earth, by sacrificing some time from your day to help make the world a better place. For example, you can help by cleaning up litter in your local park.
