Storyboard Text

  • Hello, welcome to the medieval village I live in. I will show you what a common day in the village would look like. I will show you all different sorts of things that we do on a daily basis. Most houses were made of wood and narrow. Also, they would lea frontwards and some of the houses touched.
  • This is a well. We use this well for two main reasons. One reason we use the well is for drinking/bathing water. The second reason we use the well is when someone is on trial by ordeal or combat you had to pass a dangerous test, such as being thrown in a deep well. Unfortunately the people who floated instead of drowning was declared guilty, because he or she got "rejected" by the water.
  • Today we are trading many different goods and food. One thing that is good about the merchant fairs is that there is alot of different things to trade, but one bad thing is the thiefs that will try to steal food or goods whenever you have the chance and you couldn't be able to see them possibly because the streets would be very crowded but everyone goes inside when it becomes dark.
  • I'm poor so my neighborhood it is common that several families share one house. We have 1 room where we cook, eat and sleep. My mother is a weaver and so his loom is also in our house.
  • Rich families house on the first level might have been given over for a business, including offices and storerooms. Second level might have been the families living quarters, with solar, a place where families gathered to eat and talk. An upper level might have been a house for apprentices or servants.
  • I hope you enjoyed your tour.
