the child is growing up by getting older and not being baby anymore which represents the star getting older and coming into the protostar phase
planetary nebula vs adulthood
the star is beginning to grow up and this is symbolized by a child growing up and going to school. this shows the star going into the main ssequence stage
white dwarf vs older adults
if a teen decides to stay in school and make good choices then it goes down the path of school and this is symbolized by the main sequence having only enough mass to become a red giant.
finally graduating college and becoming a real adult symbolizes you are growing up and getting closer to death and the planetary nebula keeps getting closer to being a dwarf star
by getting older you come closer to the end of your cycle and when you become an older adult there are only a few more stages to go before you don't exists and just like the white dwarf you are not far from death
