  • Lets break into the palace!

  • In this picture, it is showing people discussing the document on The Declaration of Rights of Man.

  • Reign of Terror
  • I didn't do anything wrong. Why do I have to die!
  • I don't want to die.
  • On October 1789, thousands of Parisian women rioted over the rising price of bread. They had knives, axes and marched on Versailles. The National Assembly takes action to provide bread for the people. People also broke into palace and killed some guards. Then Louis and Marie Antoinette returned to Paris and saw what had happened.

  • The Declaration of Rights of Man was set by France's National Constituent Assembly in 1789. It is a document of the French Revolution and in the history of human civil rights. This paper explains a list of rights, such as freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and separation of powers.
  • Rise of Napoleon
  • In 1793, it was a dark and violent period during the French Revolution. Radicals took control of the Revolutionary government. People arrested and executed anyone who they suspected might not be loyal to the revolution. It was a very hectic time.
  • Fall of Napoleon
  • In August 1792, the royal couple was arrested by the sans-collonttes & imprisoned, & in September the monarchy was abolished by the National Convention (which had replaced the National Assembly). The next January, Louis was convicted & condemned to death by a narrow majority. On January 21, he walked to the guillotine & was executed. Nine months later, Marie Antoinette was convicted of treason by a tribunal, & on October 16 she followed her husband to the guillotine.
  • Napoleon moved through the ranks and became a lieutenant in the French army. In 1794, was general of the Committee of Public Safety. And in Italy, he had won many battles and became well known and respected by his men. Then he returned to France a hero and planned to invade Britain. But their navy was too powerful so he abandoned his army and returned to Paris.
  • Napolean has returned!
  • He's our hero!
  • In Spain was the guerrilla warfare - hit and run (little war) Then in Austria - he divorces his wife and marries Austrian princess. He needed a son but count get one. Later on there was the disaster in Russia in 1812- Napoleon invades Russia and Russia retreats. After that is the Scorched Earth: Detroyed crops, villages, and supplies.
