When I was a few months into the 8th grade my dad was transferred to California. We drove there in our old beat up car, praying it wouldn't break down. In California I wound up in the 8th grade again. I was only 11 at the time, and way out of place.
During this time my dad was transferred to England for the last year and a half of the war. My mom, sister, and I stayed in California; we lived in Sacramento.
