Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Main Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • It was the year 2081, everyone was equal, but not in the way you think. Everyone was ordered to wear handicaps to lower their above average abilities so that everyone was the same. Every person was the same in every aspect from strength to intelligence.
  • Climax
  • Harrison Bergeron was taken from his parents at 14 because the government thought he planned to overrule them. He was above average in looks, strength, athleticism, and mental intelligence. He was against the government handicapping above average people. Harrison's father was the same as him and his mother had a perfectly average intelligence.
  • Falling Action
  • George and Hazel are watching a ballet performance on television. The ballerinas are handicapped with chains, ear pieces, and masks. During the performance, Harrison bursts through a door and screams "I am the Emperor!" He asks a ballerina to join him in a dance and demands the band play good music.
  • Resolution
  • Harrison and the ballerina are in the middle of their dance as Diana Moon Glampers, the handicapper general, walks in with a shotgun and shoots Harrison and the ballerina.
  • After Harrison and the ballerina were shot no one seemed surprised or concerned. It was as if it was something that happened everyday.
  • George walks away for a drink and comes back to Hazel crying. She says she's sad but can't remember why just that there was something sad on TV. Everyone seemed to have no reaction to Harrison and the ballerina being shot
