Storyboard Text

  • Should I wear a jacket today?
  • Kenzie feels the stimulus of the cold air and her body temperature drops.
  • The receptors on her skin, through the afferent pathway, alert the part of the brain that regulates temperature, or the "control center".
  • The control center processes the information and alerts the effectors through the efferent pathway.
  • She begins to get chills and starts shivering. The effectors (the muscles in her body),after receiving the information from the brain, move to go back inside the house.
  • Her muscular system responded and put on a jacket and her body temperature returned to normal.
