Good morning, Sally! How are you?
I'm okay, but I have a favor to ask you.
Well, as you may know, I was diagnosed two years ago and really did not accept it. But now, my symptoms are becoming much more noticeable and I am getting upset. I know I need to start making changes and accept that I have dementia.
Sally, I am incredibly proud of you for starting to accept everything that is going on and wanting to make a change. I am really happy you came to me and would be happy to help.
Let me talk to other members. I know they would love to talk about their experiences & how they cope.
That would be great! I would like to listen to what everyone has to say. I’m not sure how quick I will be able to adjust and start using the coping mechanisms, but would like to hear them.
Terry, would you like to help me lead a group focusing on coping skills for dealing with dementia symptoms?
Great! We can run it tomorrow.
Yes, I would love to! I used to be a dementia mentor and want to help.
Good morning! Hope everyone had a great night. I just wanted to let everyone knowthat at 11am, we will be having a group involving coping strategies. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to share their experiences.
the next day...
