Welcome to today’s group. I am so happy you have all joined. Terry has agreed to help co-lead this group because she can share personal experiences. But I want to encourage everyone to participate and share his or her own coping mechanisms.
What are some ways everyone copes with having dementia and dealing with the different symptoms?
I try to keep a positive attitude because being negative will get you nowhere. You cannot change what has happened and make the most of what you can still do.
I make sure to give myself more time when completing different tasks. There is nothing wrong with taking your time.
I use lists! Lots and lots of lists and alarms to remind me!
