Alex remembers it like it was yesterday. His family was on a trip in Florida, and on of the places Alex and his little sister, Hailey, was forced to visit was Everglades National Park. His parents dropped them off at 12 p.m., and told them they would be back at 2 p.m.
When his parents dropped them off, they were confronted by a strange old man on their way in yelling about some sort of creature.
He called it the Croc-Man. Half Man, half crocodile.
Hailey wasn't put off by this, but Alex was. She told him that he was crazy, and Alex told her to be careful when she was leaving the campfire to explore a bit, she showed Alex her sarcastic behavior he knew so well.
As she walked away,
Yea sure, I'll look out for the Croc-Man, who happens to be part man and part crocodile, and also happens to exist.
It had been an hour since she left, and was getting close to 2. Alex getting worried, went to one of the park rangers. He had a tiny tag on his shirt that said Harrison. When Alex told the ranger about Hailey disappearing, he told Alex that he would find her. When the park ranger didn't show up after awhile, Alex decided to go look for Hailey.
After wondering the park for awhile, Alex stumbles across Hailey and the park ranger, both unconscious. Standing above them was a strange creature with seaweed over its head, and muck covering it's entire body. It's yellow eyes piercing Alex like javelins. The most noticeable feature about it was the crocodile head. It was a crocodile that could walk. The old man was right.
Alex had to think quick. Next to the ranger was a bag, which had a gun in it. Alex quickly went to the bag and grabbed the gun.
Alex pulled the trigger as the creature lunged for him.
And then there was silence.
The creature falls with a thud, and Alex drops the gun. He quickly runs to runs to Hailey and wakes her up. Once she is fully awake, they go to awake the ranger, and the three of them start to the park's entrance.
As they leave though, Alex looks back from where they came from, and in the distance he sees those same glowing, piercing eyes the croc-man had. Till that, he still remembers what he saw and what happened. His sister thinks that he is crazy to think it is still dead, but Alex knows.
