Lesson objectives: No bullying
You four eyed freak. Go and brush your teeth!
Matthew was bullied all through primary school. He was kicked, punched, called names and treated like a waste of space.
When he went to secondary school he decided that he was not going to take it anymore. He found that the easiest way to stop being bullied was to become a bully himself.
Look at you metal man!
His plan was working and for the first time in his life he was becoming one of the 'cool' and popular kids.
Just as everything seemed to be working out for Matthew he was struck by a bus as he walked out of school one day leaving him with a severely broken leg. He had to face up to the idea of spending the next year in a wheelchair.
The same people who had been friends with Matthew when he was popular had now turned on him because of his disability. It made Matthew question whether or not they were ever really his friends at all.
It was shocking that the very people who Matthew bullied were the first ones to be there for him when the bullies turned on him. It changed the way he thought about bullying and he swore that he would never bully anyone again.
