Scene 1: The History and setting
Scene 2: Our Vision & Reason for being
Scene #: TER Division
The opening scene, we have a male voice looking out of a busy downtown Jozi street. He’s inside an office where we see the images of our Founding fathers Naude, Sisulu, Mandela and Mabuza. He describes the brief that came from these great men, “aspiring to change the face of business an ensure that Black people are part of the mainstream economy, and thereby building communities”. He narrates why it was it was important for Thebe to be established and that her mandate has not changed. We then travel to Thebe House (Drone aerial shot) in Rosebank, which has been Thebe’s home for most of her 25 year journey. The voice talks about the challenges and achievements endured over the years, but stayed on course because of the understanding and grooming from our Founders that the journey would be long. The voice highlights the 2008 financial crisis and the great business achievements like how they started SA Express, Kaya FM and Tepco.
In this scene, the voice describes the essence of Thebe, why there is a Thebe Way of doing business, The importance of understanding our African heritage, a sense of community and effective leadership. At this stage we introduce the TIC EXCO team. The voice talks about visionary and supportive leadership, one that is able to see around corners and be well positioned to take up opportunities and needs that will be important the year 2020 and beyond. We showcase each Exco member and the position they hold in Thebe. We further discuss the number capable leadership that manage and run our associate and subsidiary companies. The scene then changes into a white screen and all the Thebe companies are displayed ( not by division, just a collage of logo’s)
In this scene we are introduced to the 3 Thebe divisions and their leadership. We have the voice of the TER division head taking about his strategy and vision. We feature an display of all the companies in his portfolio and their locations on a map. The head discusses the why energy is key to Thebe’s growth and the Energy trilema
