A few years later Odysseus was to be married. He wanted to marry Helen the princess of Sparta. But then he saw Penelope. Non of the suitors could decide who would marry who so they drew straws with the girls name on it. Odysseus got Penelope's straw, and a few months later Menelaus, Helens husband gathered all the suitors and asked for their help.
Good bye loser!
My name is....Odsseus!
Odysseus didn't want to go to war, for he was told by an oracle that if he went, it would be awhile before he would return. He went, but he didn't fight. He gave them advice to build a giant wooden horse and leave it at the gate of Troy. The Trojans believed it was a gift from the gods and took it inside. The Spartans attacked everyone while they slept troy was defeated.
My men! Evil Lady!
Take this. It will help you.
Every one will be a pig!
We are sorry!
Not long after Odysseus left for Troy his son was born. The war was over. Odysseus and a boat load of men left the Troy to head back home. On the way back, they landed on the island of the Lotus-eaters. There are few men ate the lotus flower and forgot about their family’s. They left and Odysseus and his men were on their way, soon they came to the land of the giant Cyclopes. Where they stoped for food.
To Be Continued.
They walked into a Cyclops cave, and then Polyphemos blocked the entrance to his home with a huge rock and ate a few men. Odysseus tricks the cyclops and then escaped by holding on to the bellies of Polyphemos sheep, but as Odysseus was sailing away with his men, his ego got the best of him. He taunted the Cyclops, telling him his real name. Big mistake. Odysseus and his men got to the island of Aiolos.
OH NO. What have I done?
I'm so stupid!
The god put all of the wind but, western breeze in the bag, but Odysseus’s men wanted to know what was in the bag, so they opened it, thinking there was treasure inside. They made a big mistake. All the wind jumped out and ran which forced the bout to go the wrong way and the came upon the island of a sorceress named Circe, who turned many of the men into pigs. With the help from the gods, Odysseus got his men turned back into humans.
They traveled to the underworld they made it passed by the Sirens, monstrous women with beautiful voices who try to lure sailors to their deaths, Odysseus made his men plug their ears and tie him to the mast so he could listen to the song without chasing after it. Then they met two horrible monsters (curiously, also female) named Scylla and Charybdis. As predicted Skylla (has six heads) ate six of Odysseus's men; the rest barely escaped Charybdis.
