Jackson fought long and hard in many battles.
Uh oh
Jackson decides that he wants to be the 7th president of the United States. He runs against a man named John C. Calhoun. During the election there was a lot of mudslinging, which means they weren't very nice to each other.
No National Bank!
After the election Jacksons wife Rachel Jackson dies, which made him very sad and angry. This is what started his bad presidency.
Jackson became close with Peggy Eaton, which made Peggy's husband mad. And also got Jackson into a lot of trouble.
Andrew Jackson did not like the National Bank. The president of the bank was Nicholas Biddle, and Jackson wanted to get rid of him. So he made a plan to make "Pet Banks" which made it so the states were in charge of their own banks. But a man named Henry Clay made this hard, because he supported the U.S bank.
