Rising Action Description: Dupin uses deductive reasoning and analyzes the crime scene. He finds a piece of hair that moves the investigation forward.
Climax Description: The detective waits for the culprit to make an appearance... All of a sudden the sailor creeps up behind them.
Falling Action Description: They all return to their apartment, where the sailor confesses. The true story about the orangutan and the murders is revealed.
Resolution Description: Le Bon gets released as the cops accused the wrong suspect. The orangutan gets placed into a zoo and the sailor gets to keep the orangutan if it stays in captivity.
