Me too! I am here to ask your community for help with labor and protection.
I live in this community with my immediate and extended family. We farm and care for ourselves.
This is my community. Because we have a river nearby, we are able to better trade our goods. We hope that with your communities help we will be able to have more people doing different types of crafts.
I am glad we can help you.
It has done very well. I am even resting because I know all of our hard work has paid off, and that this city will just grow even more.
Wow, I cannot believe what a large bustling city this small village has become. What do you think about it?
Family-based communities were made up of extended families. They produced what they needed and traded with other comunities for what they didn't have.
Did you hear the news? Our ruler sent his army to conquer new lands, and they succeeded. Now our kingdom is twice the size of before.
Villages were formed when family-based communities joined together. They did this to get extra help for labor and protection which produced a surplus of crops that allowed people to go into different crafts.
Cities grew when villages were able to trade more. They were able to have specialization and trade those products. This brought more wealth to the city, helping it grow and become a trading site.
When a king was really wealthy they could purchase an army to conquer other cities. Then they would be expanding their kingdom.
