The battle of camden was fought on wednesday, August 16, 1780, in Camden, Sout Carolina. The leaders of the colonists were Major General Horatio Gates, Johann de Kalb, and Marquis de la Rouerie and the British leaders for the battle were Banastre Tarleton, Francis Rawdon-Hastings, and Lord Charles Cornwallis .
The British were a much more experienced army, and they easily intimidated the colonists.
Barely any shots were fired before the colonists ran away in feat.
After the battle, the colonists felt discouraged, and the British felt very strong. They were determined that the colonists would never overthrow them.
The colonists lost 300 men, and 600 were injured.
The british lost 68 men, and 245 were wounded.
