Good Morning Class! We are going to learn about religion. Did you know that religion is likely as important in shaping an individual's persona as gender, class, or ethnicity.
What are the different religions that are around the world?
Some of the religions that are identified are Christian, Protestant, Catholic, Mormon, Orthodox, Jewish, Atheist or Agnostic, Buddhist, Muslim, Hindu, and no affiliation. Do any of you know or are apart of any of these religions? Think about this question at recess and come back prepared to talk about religion.
Hi Clara, the topic about religion that Miss B. is talking about is really interesting. It got me thinking about my religion and my family is Christian. Did you know that the United States is primarily a Christian nation? What religion are you apart of?
Wow James thats awesome! My family and I are Catholics. Catholic faith is a single denomination under the Pope, who has authority over all Catholics throughout the world.
Welcome back from recess! Lets talk more about religion. Most Americans are born into the religion of their parents, later joining the same body. This does not mean that one has to stay with the same religion, they can change their religion at anytime. In most cases religion and public schooling are to remain separate but can be taught in schools as a legitimate discipline for objective study.
Before everyone leaves today, I want to say thank you for sharing your thoughts on religion. One last note for everyone though, do not stereotype anyone because of their religion. Everyone should be treated equally and we need to respect the religion diversity that exists. Everyone comes from a different background and we should all welcome new knowledge if we want.
