I just turned 13 and I was at a swim meet on Saturday, December 10th ,2016. The swim meet was at the Triangle Aquatic Center. At the meet I was supposed to swim the 100 Butterfly.

When I walked up to the blocks, I realized the heat for my 100 Fly was already in the water. Then I walked away grabbed a protein bar and when up stairs to see my Mom and Dad.
OK I can do this. I just have to relax.
After going upstairs I found my Mom and Dad and they comforted me. They comforted me by saying its ok and telling me it was just a mistake and you aren't a horrible person because of your mistakes. They also helped me realize that I just need to pay more attention.
Yay I won!
After talking to my parents I went back down stairs to relax before my next event, the 100 Freestyle, I relaxed by sitting down, stretching, listen to music to calm my nerves and eating a snack I payed very close attention to the board so that I wouldn't miss my next event.
I walked to the bathroom and tried to relax some more. I took a shower and then walked back out to sit down for my next event the 100 Free.
After relaxing and calming my nerves I got back out to the water on time and swam my 100 Freestyle. I payed more attention to the board and I rocked my 100 Free. That day I learned to pay more attention to my events and that mistakes happen but do not define who you are.
