  • The Battle of New Orleans
  • After the whole White House fiasco, the British sailed to Baltimore, Maryland, to capture the city. The city was guarded by Fort McHenry. Another battle came along, where one man named Francis Scott Key, was waiting to see which flag would rise in the end. When the American flag was seen, Key drafted a poem about the power he's seen through America, now known as "The Star-Spangled Banner"
  • America and Britain sign a treaty to end the War of 1812. This treaty was called the Treaty of Ghent, as it was signed in Ghent, United Netherlands. But, since news goes around very slowly, the war was still going on...
  • Since the news of the treaty didn't arrive yet, British soldiers tried to take the city of New Orleans. General Andrew Jackson didn't let that happen though, and led his army to victory.
