When night came Poppy fell asleep but was soon awoken by a terrifying howl, soon the silhouette of a wild dog came into view, Poppy was terrified but then she began to hum the Bellbird song. To her surprise the wild dog dropped to the ground and trotted away. Poppy named the dog "Fisher".
Poppy's tummy now ached with hunger, but soon she smelled the most delicious aroma of meat and baked bread. She slowly walked to where the smell was coming from and hid behind a bush. There were two men sitting on logs by the fire and eating their food, suddenly the famous bushranger Harry Power rode in on his horse and the two men handed him two small bags and left. Next Harry Power started eating the food and to Poppy's surprise he called her over and Poppy started eating with him.
Later on in the day when she had arrived at a place called Tocumwal, Poppy stepped out of a shop after buying a loaf of bread. A police officer started chasing her thinking that she had stolen the loaf of bread. Suddenly, to her surprise she saw Fisher standing there ready to chase the police officer away and that is exactly what he did. Poppy was glad that Fisher helped her and later when night arrived she found some special code writing from Gus on a tree, it was a special code writing that Poppy and Gus had made. She knew this was the next clue to finding her brother and now she knew she didn't have to do it alone, with Fisher by her side.
