For Science 2018
Fertilisation starts off when the sperm fuses with the egg, forming a zygote.
The zygote will have 23 chromosomes from mom and the other 23 from dad. This will total with 46 chromosomes all together.
The cell will then divide in the process of mitosis. They'll line up in the of the cell then will pull apart from each other.
They become chromosomes again. Each set will split off with their own cell membrane.
The cell will then split, creating an identical daughter cell. Each new cell will grow and develop again, repeating the process.
THe development of the embryo will cintinue as each new cell receives genetic information from mom and dad. Thank You.
