When the animals finally finished the windmill there was a big storm that destroyed it. Napoleon blamed this misfortune on Snowball and gave him a death sentence. He told the animals that whoever kills him can have extra rations.
No animal shall kill any other animal without cause

While the animals struggled to rebuild the windmill, Napoleon decided to start selling the chicken's eggs. Even though this was one of old Major's original complaints, Napoleon didn't care. The chickens were appalled by this and refused to do it, so Napoleon cut all their rations until they decided to obey him.
After many of the chickens starved and the rest gave in, Napoleon accused many of the animals of being "traitors" and conspiring against him with Snowball. He made all of the accused animals stand in front of all the animals while his guard dogs brutally murdered them.
After the executions, the animals discovered that one of the ten commandments was now changed, but they chose to just blame it on their faulty memories, even though it was obvious that Napoleon had changed it.
Napoleon is now the official "leader" by force and continues to break the rules. He releases propaganda to make the animals feel more comfort due to the fact that their in almost worse condition than when Mr. Jones was around.
While weakly rebuilding the windmill, one of the most determined and loyal animals, a horse named Boxer, collapses and is said to be sent to a human hospital for treatment. When the "ambulance" arrives the animals notice the words "Glue Maker" printed on the side of the vehicle.
