  • But, my dear, i thought you would be thrilled.
  • suprise! i have tickets to a ball.
  • My dear friend, my i borrow a diamond necklace for the ball?
  • Sure! Take what ever you like!
  • Mathilde Loisel is charming and wears clean clothes. She lives a pretty good life but still wishes she was rich and had nice things. One day her husband comes home with an invitation to a ball.
  • Oh no! I lost the necklace.
  • Oh no! let me go check the carriage, maybe you dropped it somewhere.
  • ha! later losers
  • Mr. Loisel got tickets to a ball. He thought his wife would be thrilled to go but she isn't. She does not want to go because she says she has nothing to wear. Her husband gives her 400 francs to go buy a dress and tells her to borrow a necklace from her rich friend
  • That stupid necklace! Look what it got us. Ten years of suffering just to make sure she didn't know we lost it. I'm so tired, I'm going to deliver the clothes and take a walk.
  • Ok. I'll be here if you need me.
  • Her very nice friend , Mme.Forestier, lets her borrow a diamond necklace for her to take to the ball. Loisel is thrilled and finally happy to go to the ball.
  • OH LOOK ITS YOU!  And yes its really me! You are the cause of all my problems. Remember the necklace you lent me to wear at the party? Yea, I lost it and what I gave you was just another one like it. And it took us 10 years to pay for it, we have suffered so much.
  • Oh wow, you look really ugly, I couldn't even tell it was you! And oh, my dear that necklace wasn't even worth 500 francs!
  • Once they got home, Mme.Loisel realizes she had lost the diamond necklace. She and her husband were distraught, he went back to the carriage they arrived in to check it out but to no avail. The necklace was lost.
  • After Mme.Loisel lost the diamond necklace, she made her and her husband borrow so much money, to buy a replacement, causing them to go into debt for 10 long years. During that time period, they had to work long hours of the day and they eventually became old and ugly.
  • 10 years later, Loisel runs into her friend on the street. Her friend doesn't recognize her because she has become so ugly and old. After telling her about the necklace, Loisel finds out that the necklace wasn't even worth all the moeny she and her husband spent!
