Napoleon set up a blockade to prevent all trade with great Britain in an effort to destroy their economy. However, because Britain had a stronger Navy, they responded with a more effective blockade.
The British have set up their own blockade!
Napoleon started the Peninsula Wars. he sent and invasion force through Spain to make Portugal follow his Continental System. He replaced the Spanish King with his brother, which angered the Spanish. He was met with strong opposition, and his losses weakened his Empire,
Napoleon had attacked his own ally Russia because they wouldn't stop selling grain to Britain. His army was devastated in Russia and eventually retreated back to France. Allied armies pushed against France until Napoleon was forced to give up his throne. he was exiled from France.
