Storyboard Text

  • This occurs in the mitochondrial matrix
  • In this process pyruvate is broken down to acetyl coenzyme A carbon dioxide is released, NADH is oxidized and turns into NAD+
  • Finally Oxidative Phosphorylation which includes the electron transport chain which is like a bus
  • Electrons are passed from one member of the transport chain to another Energy released in these reactions is captured as a proton gradient, as electrons are passed down the chain they release hydrogen
  • At electrons are transferred to molecular oxygen, which splits in half and takes up hydrogen  to produce water. Then in the last part the ADP passes through the ATP synthase adding a phosphate and creating ATP and that's the end of cellular respiration
  • You're right I couldn't have taught that
  • Pathetic
