  • Scene 2
  • "Masters, play here"(3.1.1) The clown tells the musicians to stop playing. Cassio pays the clown and tells him to go get Emilia.
  • Scene 3
  • Cassio asks Emilia to get him " some brief discourse with Desdemona alone"(3.2.50-51). He wants to talk to Desdemona to see if she can help him get his job back.
  • Scene 3
  • Othello tells Iago to give the letters "to the pilot" (3.2.1) and pay his respects to the Senete of Venice. Iago agrees.
  • Scene 3
  • Desdemona tells Cassio she "will do all" (3.3.1-2) that she can to help him. Meanwhile, Iago and Othello seem to be coming their way and Cassio leaves before Othello arives. Desdemona talks to Othello about Cassio's position and he agrees to give it back to him.
  • Iago began his scheme by asking Othello questions like"Did Micheal Cassio, when you wooed my lady, know of your love"(3.3.95-96). Othello is very gullible and he falls for Iago's first trick and begins to suspect Desdemona.
  • Desdemona dropped her handkerchief and Emilia picked it up. She remembered her "wayward husband hath a hundred times wooed" (3.3.299-300) her to steal it. So, she gave it to Iago.
