  • You killed him.
  • He must be hanged for his crime.
  • He killed the Hunchback!
  • Do not hang him. I killed the Hunchback!
  • Hang the Reeve!
  • The watchman saw the Broker/ Nazarene struck the neck of the hunchback. He also discovered the hunchback was dead so he carried him to the Governor's house.
  • Another innocent must not die on my account!
  • Hang the Jew!
  • The Governor gave an order to hang the murderer.
  • Hold! Hold! It was I and none else killed the hunchback.
  • Is this the truth?
  • The Executioner prepared to hang the Broker but just as the rope was being tied around the Broker's neck, the Reeve pushed his way through the crowd and he told the tale of smiting the Hunchback with a hammer on the chest.
  • Yes. Let go of the Jew and hang me.
  • Verily, this is an adventure which should be recorded in books!
  • When the Reeve/steward was hanged up, the doctor/Jewish physician pushed through the crowd and shouted to the executioner about his tale of killing the hunchback by accident.  
  • The Tailor ran to the Gallows and shouted to the executioner about his tale of the fishbone.
  • When the Governor heard the Tailor, he marveled at the matter of the Hunchback's tale.
