  • In 1764 Parliament passed the Sugar Act this lowered taxes on molasses. 
  • ¨I hope this will stop smuggling!¨
  • ¨We came up with a plan to lower taxes , It's called the Sugar Act!¨
  • ¨Maybe the colonist will pay their taxes now!!¨
  • ¨So am I!¨ 
  • The Sugar Act angered most colonist.  The colonist thought  that the Sugar Act and other new laws were not fair and a violated their rights. The colonist also believed that they had a right to a trial and they should be viewed as innocent until proven guilty.
  • ¨I am outraged  by these new laws!!¨
  • ¨Colonist thought they weren´t safe in their own homes because officers would come and barging in looking for stolen goods.¨
  • (colonist thinking inside their home) oh noo they found me!!!!
  • ¨You have been smuggling goods and not paying your taxes!!¨
  • ¨Open up we know your in there!!!¨
