Chief Polin and Captain Dominicus Jordan traveled to Boston to speak with the governor of Mass about removing the dam.
Later In Life
The Indians wanted the dam for water power.
Polin and the governor had a discussion. While talking they discussed trading and settlement in New Marblehead. Polin was told that a letter would be sent from them, to Kernel Westbrook requesting the dam be opened at the proper season.
The papers approving the dam to be opened were burned in a fire during the war.
