  • On September 1st, 1939, Adolf Hitler launched his attack on Poland. This battle, spanning only one month, would trigger WWII.Germany would be victorious, taking over Poland.
  • Following the invasion, both France and Britain declared war on Germany, with neither being properly prepared for war.

  • Execution squads murdered thousands of Poles, and expelled millions from their homes.
  • Poland's occupation ended in 1945 with Germany's defeat.
  • By the end of the war, over 5 million Poles were killed, with over 3 million of them being Jews.
