  • a condition marked by impaired muscle coordination (spastic paralysis) and/or other disabilities, typically caused by damage to the brain before or at birth.
  • Cerebral Palsy efffects peoples everyday lifes. Here's a few examples.
  • 3 in 4 people with cerebral palsy experience pain.  This pain can affect a person’s behavior, their ability to do things for themselves, to sleep and their social relationships.
  • Cerebral palsy can affect the muscles that open and close the mouth and move the lips and the tongue. Some people with cerebral palsy may have difficulties in chewing and swallowing food and drink 
  • Children with cerebral palsy may experience specific learning difficulties. They also have major hearing problems. 1 in 25 patients are deaf.
