We have to leave because your wife is sick. We must sell the horses. :(
Black Beauty, a beautiful black horse, lived with Squire Gordon at Birtwick Park. Beauty loved living there because his master was very kind to him. Beauty also lived with his mom who always taught him how to behave and how to be a good horse.
After living with his master through his whole childhood, the master decided that he had to sell all the horses, including Black Beauty, due to his wife being sick. Beauty was very sad because his master had to leave, leaving Beauty behind.
John Manly, Beauty's new owner, was very intelligent and kind. Beauty really liked him because he often let Beauty walk around and do whatever he wanted. John treated Beauty with respect and made sure he had everything he needed. This, however, did not last. John Manly and his family wanted to move, and decided to sell Beauty.
Beauty was sold to a horrible owner who neglected him and treated him badly. One night, the owner was so drunk that he ended up making Beauty fall which killed the owner and scarred Beauty for life.
After another bad owner, Beauty was sent to even worse owners who treated him horribly and worked him until he couldn't anymore. The new owners were so harsh and cruel, that he saw his friend (Ginger) who was mistreated so badly, being carted away, dead.
After being mistreated horribly and living with bad owners, eventually, Beauty got the owners that he desperately wanted for a long time. He got the good owners he deserved.
