Hamlet encounters his father's ghost, and his father reveals that King Claudius murdered him.
Ophelia and Polonius discuss Ophelia's relationship with Hamlet. He warns her that Hamlet may be going mad or playing off of her emotions.
Polonius and King Claudius spy on Hamlet and Ophelia. Hamlet confesses he does not, nor has ever, loved Ophelia. This breaks her heart.
Hamlet meets with his mother, Queen Gertrude, and in his rage over his father's death kills Polonius.
Hamlet shows up uninvited to Ophelia's burial, to rage of her brother, Laertes.
Laertes and Hamlet dual. However, the king has plotted for Hamlet to die by poisoning both the drink and the sword. In the end, all of the main character, King Claudius, Queen Gertrude, Hamlet, and Laertes, die.
