Storyboard Text

  • First Discussion of BPR Chairman's Murder Case
  • The streets are less dangerous at night with reduced traffic.
  • The most interesting was Miss Gunther. Go and bring her here.
  • Okay, then it was a screaming success. Of all our guests, which do you think was the most interesting?
  • It's now 11:20PM.
  • Unexpected Threesome
  • It is not all right with me. It would be folly to trust him at all or to believe anything he says. As I told you, he is in the pay of the NIA.
  • I'm sorry to bust in on you and Mr. Kates. That's all right, Isn't it, Al?
  • Beautiful: The One he's been dreaming of.
  • ... she's extremely smart... she's the one I've been dreaming about the past 10 years... she is exactly what I have in mind...
  • Allright, come on.
  • Come, where?
  • Don't be demure.
  • The discussion was a screaming success, where in all the guests were literally screaming, pointing their blames to others. However, among all the guests, only Ms. Gunther who didn't come and attend the discussion, which made Wolfe interested about her.
  • His First and Last Interrogation of Her
  • Excuse me, but I have no precedent for this, you being grilled by a murder suspect.  Am I supposed to take it down?
  • This is silly. You aren't playing fair. You say nothing but no.
  • Archie thought that her pictures in the paper had been just nothing compared with this. He was still suffering from shock since he saw Miss Phoebe Gunther, the Confidential Secretary of Mr. Cheeney Boone, The Dead BPR Chairman.
  • His First and Last Fetch of Her
  • I'll run you up, I have to put the car away anyhow.
  • Would you mind showing me which way to go for a taxi?
  • So you did. But since we know enough not to trust him, all we have to do is to be a little smarter than he is in order to get more out of him than he gets out of us.
  • He brought her down to Thirty-Fifth Street, in the house of Detective Nero Wolfe.
  • Letter to Archie
  • Archie was calling Nero telling his problem about bringing Phoebe in his house.
  • Nero Wolfe ignored, Archie. Phoebe Gunther was concentrating and also ignored, Archie.
  • No.
  • Phoebe said that she was going to be hysterical as she closed her eyes and leaned on her seat in the car. Archie looked at her, and there certainly wasn't any sign of it in her voice, or her face. He never saw anyone act less hysterical.
  • Thanks. When this is all over.
  • When this is over I'd be glad to teach you how to play pool or look up words in dictionary.
  • Archie got back home, after putting the car away, and stopped in the office to make sure the safe was locked, there was a scribbled note lying on his desk.
  • Archie: Do not communicate further with Miss Gunther except on my order. A woman who is not fool is dangerous. I don't like this case and shall decide tomorrow whether to abandon it and refund the retainer. In morning get Panzer and Gore here. NR
