  • Nicole want to explore the nature all around her when she goes on vacation to different places. She first went to the Sahara's. Nicole wonder what the angle of this tree is from where she is standing. If the tree is 6ft tall and she is 3ft away from tree. She figures out that she can use use the equation tanx (6/5). She figures out that the equation leads her to the answer of 50.2 degrees. That means that the top tree is 50.2 degrees from where she is standing to the top of the tree.

  • Nicole then goes to a park in the fall. She wants to know the angle from the where she is standing to the top of the tree. The tree is 9ft tall and she is standing 7ft away from the tree. She remembered from the last time how to find the angle. She uses the equation tanx (9/7). After solving the equation, she figures out that it is 52.1 degrees. This means that the top tree is 52.1 degrees from where is standing.

  • Nicole decided to go on a hike at a national park. She wanted to know how tall the tree was. In the brochure that she picked up said that the angle from the top of the tree and 10ft away from the tree was 68 degrees. She figured out that she could use the equation tan68 (x/10). After solving the equation, she found out that the tree was 25ft tall.

  • Nicole then decided to go into a garden during her stay at a hotel. She figured out that the height of the apple tree was 13ft tall and the length between the bush and the tree was 9ft. She wanted to figure out the distance between the top of the bush and the the top of the apple tree. She figured out that she could find it by doing 13 squared plus 9 squared equals the missing value squared. She ended up with answer of 16ft. That means that it was 16ft from the top of the bush to the top of the tree.
