We have to hurry before Conner gets here!
I should be the prince. Not Sage.
I should have seen it sooner. You are the new prince, Sage.
Conner's plan is almost ruined when a fellow nobleman of the royal court searches his house to investigate his suspicions of Conner. Luckily, Imogen and Mott help cover up the orphans, saving the plan.
Conner decides that the longer he waits to choose the prince, the more he risks getting caught. Thus, he chooses Roden as the One. But after seeing Sage do a trick the prince knew, he's convinced that Sage is the right choice after all.
I am Jaron, son of Eckbert. I have evidence of my identity.
Sage makes a deal with Conner that the other orphans will live and follow them to the castle for the royal ceremony, and Imogen must come along too.
As the group heads into the castle through a secret entrance, Roden and Conner's vigil, Cregan, reveal that they were plotting against Conner and Sage the whole time. Roden challenges Sage to a sword fight for the crown, but Sage wins and shuns Roden. Cregan is immediately killed by Mott.
Sage makes it right on time to the court, and reveals himself to be the true Prince Jaron. For all those years they thought he was dead, he was actually posing as an orphan to keep himself safe. Now that his family is dead, though, he knows he must return and rightfully claim the throne.
Sage, now back to being known as Jaron, is glad the beginning of his plan worked, but he knows that he has a long way to go in being king. In the end, it's obvious that Carthya is still in peril, and King Jaron must save it.
