  • CONFLICT
  • It wasn't fair! Let him pick again!
  • Be a good sport, Tessie
  • Shut up Tessie!
  • RISING ACTION
  • On the bright, sunny morning of June 27th the people of the small village are preparing for the lottery.   Mr. Summers, the man in front,  is in charge of the Lottery.   Everyone else is anxiously waiting to see who's names will be called.
  • CLIMAX
  • Tessie is claiming that it wasn't fair and her husband was rushed to pick a piece of paper.  She does not want to get stones thrown at her.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • The Hutchinson family is picking their pieces of paper for the lottery.
  • RESOLUTION
  • Tessie got the paper with the black dot on it.  She does not want stones to be thrown at her .
  • Everyone realizes that they have to throw the stones at Tessie.
  • It's Tessie, show us her paper Bill.
  • The people of the village begin to throw the stones at Tessie.
