Storyboard Text

  • 2nd of July, 1505...
  • Ahhhhh! Am I dying?
  • What on earth happened to you?
  • I AM GOD!
  • Martin Luther's decision...
  • I don't want to study law...
  • I want to be a monk!
  • Wrong! WRONG! Wrong!
  • WRONG!
  • WRONG!
  • WRONG!
  • WRONG!
  • WRONG!
  • WRONG!
  • WRONG!
  • On the 2nd of July, 1505, Martin Luther was struck by lightning and believed he received a message from God, the almighty Father, telling him to become a monk.
  • 1517, the 95 Theses...
  • After Martin Luther received this message he decided to quit studying law and become a monk, as God told him to.
  • 1546, Martin Luther's dealth...
  • Great! Now I won't get to see how this damn thing ends!
  • Dear Father, please send me up to heaven.
  • Martin Luther found many things he thought were wrong with the Catholic Church. Such as the power of the Pope, the selling of indulgences, extreme wealth of the church. Martin mentioned that the bible should be written in the language of the people, not just Latin. And, Luther believed everyone had the right to read God's word (the bible), not just priests.
  • 1648, everyone was happy...
  • In the year 1517, Martin Luther posted 95 theses on the church's door. This is when the Protestant Reformation began. Although the Reformation swept through all of Western Europe, the most dramatic events of this great religious revolt took place in Germany. Gutenberg's printing press made it possible for Luther to spread his beliefs.
  • Dear God, I really hope this works. Amen.
  • Let's see what they do now!
  • The 95 Theses
  • Martin Luther died in the year 1546 but the Protestant Reformation didn't end until 1648.
  • In the year 1648, the Protestant Reformation ended and the result of this for the Catholic Church was a greater tolerance for different beliefs. A refocus on charity and missionary work, helping the poor. The Catholic Church abolished the sale of indulgences and made strict rules that the priests had to follow to prevent corruption, and all people could read the bible.
  • We will never...
  • We won't...
  • We will...
  • We will...
