Storyboard Text

  • I see something strange, and not belonging to yourself, protruding from your skirts. Is it a foot or a claw?
  • The Ghost symbolizes England because the children were doomed if they did not get an education. This led to them not being able to get a good job which then leads to not being able to pay taxes and whoever did not pay taxes went to jail and was hidden away just like the children are hidden away under the Ghost's skirts.
  • symbolism
  • This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom.
  • DOOM
  • At the beginning of the story Scrooge started off as a miserly old man. After experiencing the present with the Ghost, he starts to become kinder.
  • indirect characterization
  • Spirit, tell me if Tiny Tim will live.
  • I see a vacant seat in the poor chimney corner, and a crutch without an owner, carefully preserved.
  • The theme is the effects of greed. Scrooge was engaged to the love of his life, but she ended the marriage in belief that he cared more about money than their relationship.
  • theme
  • Have I ever sought release? In what then?
  • In words no. In a changed nature, in an altered spirit, in another atmosphere of life.
  • indirect characterization
  • Scrooge was not sad about his long time work partner Marley dying, he was sad that he was a good business man that would not be able to work with him any longer which indirectly characterizes him as cold-hearted.
  • Scrooge was not so dreadfully cut up by the sad event but that he was an excellent man of business.
  • symbolism
  • Tiny Tim symbolizes Jesus because he brings out the very best in anyone and is always positive. Despite his sickness, he never fails to make his family happy.
  • God bless us, everyone.
  • Scrooge went back in time with the Ghost of Christmas Past and saw himself as a young boy all alone at Christmas time. He started crying because he felt sorry for his younger self and because he had no one to celebrate with.
  • internal conflict
  • A lonely boy was reading near a feeble fire; and Scrooge sat down upon a form, and wept to see his poor forgotten self as he used to be.
