Prince Prospero continued to party, without thinking of the outside world, with his 1000 friends that he brought along.
Suddenly, a figure, dressed in a dark cloak, appeared. Prince Prospero and all of his friends froze at the sight.
In the seventh room, the clock chimed one last time on the arrival of the masked figure.
"Please spare the people in this house," the prince said, for he knew the Red Death had come to take his friends away.
The Red Death left, but not without taking people with it. The prince was unaffected and had to watch everyone be taken.
Prince Prospero lived forever alone, always remembering that he could have saved his friends and others if he had not been greedy and helped others. The clock rang once every year on the same day of the event to remind the price of his wrong choices.
